Privacy is dead, and social media hold smoking gun

As he tweets out his latest story to his 1.1 million Twitter followers, does David Pogue need The New York Times, or does The New York Times need David Pogue? And what becomes of the newly unemployed journalist who doesn't set up a Twitter account like Pogue, who has posted more than 2,000 tweets on technology, fatherhood and other topics?

remarkable article from Mashable's Peter Cashmore

Ma.gnolia Blog

Ma.Gnolia social bookmarking service has risen from it's ashes and now it's opening doors to its previous users list.

Soon each ma.gnolia user will be given the opportunity to invite some of his friends on the service, that will not be - in the actual intentions of it's owners - a wide open, public service, but it will be more focused on a "restricted" list of users.

Check it out!

is Posterous too much self-centered ?

I mean ... with no clearly shown blogroll, no unified tagging system, all the game seems focused on the self promotion (with self intented in the widest mean possible).

Is it just my impression ?

Google Latidute, reliable?

Last week-end I was in Francavilla al Mare (Chieti, Italy) for the second italian's BeachCamp and it was one of the few times that actually me and a bunch of friends were in the same place (or nearby).

This screenshot of the friend's map on my iPhone was taken while we all four were drinking a cold beerd under the same umbrella at Lido Venus in via Treste, with 3 of us updating their place on the a-GPS of our devices {for the record 2 iPhone 3G, 1 iPhone 3Gs, 1 Nokia e71} ...

The image was taken just after the GPS update and shows how the service, at least in Italy, isn't really too reliable ...

Ideas on the possible causes ?
